Obituary of Sharon Eileen Clarke

It is with broken hearts that the family of Sharon Clarke announce the news of her unexpected death, April 18, 2024 at Queensway-Carlton Hospital, Ottawa.

Born on July 28, 1954 in Belleville, Ontario, Sharon spent much of her childhood in areas around Toronto, before settling in the city during her teenage years. Sharon began her career there, working for the Toronto Dominion Bank. She started her family in Toronto, too, but moved east to Ajax, where she raised her daughter and son.

Sharon became a licensed realtor in 1988, and had a long and revered career with the Toronto Real Estate Board and, later, the Rideau-St. Lawrence Real Estate Board. In fact, Sharon was a multi-time president of the latter, and was honoured to be placed on the board’s Wall of Fame in 2021.

She loved watching curling and cheering on the Toronto Blue Jays, and was a proud associate member of the Royal Canadian Legion.

Sharon is survived by her beloved children, Kristan Wolfe (Bill) and Kameron Clarke, and her treasured grandchildren Madeline, Grace, Fiona and Liam. She was predeceased by her parents, George Corlies and Dorothy Meeks, and her infant brother, Christopher Corlies.

She will be remembered by her brother, Bill Corlies of Belleville, along with many cousins, friends and colleagues around the world. Her dearest friend, Lynn Aikman of Brockville, will miss her most of all.

Sharon was beautiful, both inside and out. Her generous, giving nature, and jolly sense of humour will live long in the memory of all who knew her.

A Celebration of Life, “Sharon’s Open House,” will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 96, Brockville, on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Loving tributes will be shared, commencing at 2 p.m.

Internment to be held in late July at the Victoria Cemetery, Plainfield, to mark what would have been Sharon’s 70th birthday. Family request that donations in her honour be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, or the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 96 General Fund.

Arrangements entrusted to Barclay Funeral Home, 137 Pearl Street E., Brockville. Messages of Condolences can be sent online at www.barclayfuneralhome.com.
